What is Obstetric Fistula?

Obstetric Fistula is a preventable condition that occurs to young girls during childbirth leaving the women in a state of permanent incontinence of urine and or feces. This condition can often leave them ostracized from their family and community, alone.

The Hamlin Fistula hospital in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia treats on average 3000 patients a year. More women still go untreated and need our support.
